Our NSW Government client is hiring for a highly capable Senior Project Officer - Construction. In this role, the successful candidate will support the delivery of the wider program package, dealing with recovery and upgrading of properties after floods. Based in Parramatta and with travel requirements to Northern NSW (Coffs Harbour and Ballina areas) the role involves high levels of interaction with a range of stakeholders. Candidates must be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment, dealing with multiple concurrent projects. NSW Government experience within the Construction space is required for this role. Role Title: Senior Project Officer - Construction Contract Length: ASAP start, for a 6 Months role with a high chance of extension Daily Pay: $650 Super per day. Location: Parramatta, (2150). Office /WFH hybrid. Key Accountabilities: Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of the program package(s). Manage project scope, time, cost, quality, risk, and procurement to achieve project objectives. Liaise with all internal & external stakeholders and lead the delivery of the assigned packages. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including consultants such as PMs, cost, procurement consultants, architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors. Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement effective mitigation strategies. Accurate planning, updating, tracking, and reporting of budgets and forecasts related to the work packages. Foster strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and project team members. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and safety standards. Manage and mentor a team of project professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Provide regular project updates and reports to senior management. Visit project sites 2-4 times a month for progress inspection, site and/or community meetings. Challenges associated with the role: Delivering projects within defined timeframes while coordinating and advising regional/dispersed Asset Management Units in capital and infrastructure project and program management, and associated reporting. Managing the ongoing implementation of government policies and work in a highly collaborative manner with local government stakeholders and communities. Knowledge and Experience: Extensive Construction Project Management Experience. NSW Government construction experience. Ability to work with diverse stakeholders. Possession of a White Card. Experience with MS Projects, Excel, and Word is essential. AutoCAD experience is desirable. Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to be assertive is required. Candidates must be based in or around the Greater Sydney Area and willing to travel to Northern NSW sites. Additionally, you must possess existing full working rights within Australia.
