We have several vacancies for candidates interested in teaching-focused roles in Medicine. Part-time (0.4FTE - 40% and/or 0.6FTE – 60%) opportunities are available in Clinical Education or Medical Education in support of clinical, practical and classroom teaching in the Doctor of Medicine. Medicine – We have up to five part-time (0.4FTE or 0.6FTE) roles available to contribute towards teaching in the medical program, including in the areas of law and ethics. 0.4FTE – 40% roles: One x 0.4FTE position in Medical Education; Two x 0.4FTE positions in Clinical Education. 0.6FTE – 60% roles: One x 0.6FTE position in Clinical Education; One x 0.6FTE position in Medical Education. The successful candidates will be expected to make informed contributions to the teaching effort of the School, and to carry out activities to maintain and develop scholarly, and / or professional activities relevant to the medicine discipline. They will also be expected to perform the full academic responsibilities and related administration in support of the development, coordination and delivery of courses in the Doctor of Medicine program. These are continuing, part-time positions based at the Gold Coast campus. As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations. Griffith University’s campuses are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples. Salary Range The part-time equivalent base salary for a 40% FTE at the Academic Lecturer (Level B) ranges from $44,185 - $52,472 per annum 17% superannuation. The total part-time package will range from $51,697 - $61,392. The part-time equivalent base salary for a 60% FTE at the Academic Lecturer (Level B) ranges from $66,278 - $78,708 per annum 17% superannuation. The total part-time package will range from $77,546 - $92,088. Qualifications The successful candidates for the Clinical Education roles will possess: A medical degree from a recognised educational institution; and A doctoral or masters qualification of equivalent accreditation and standing and / or professional fellowship; and/or Significant progress towards completion of a doctoral degree in a relevant discipline or field. Ahpra registration or Ahpra registrable clinical qualification Experience in teaching in an undergraduate or postgraduate medical or medical science program. The successful candidates for the Medical Education roles will possess: A doctoral, honours or masters qualification of equivalent accreditation and standing and/or progress towards completion of a doctoral degree in a relevant discipline or field. Experience in teaching in an undergraduate or postgraduate medical or medical science program. Desirable – possessional of a medical degree from a recognised educational institution. In addition, you will have demonstrated ability to: Foster an outstanding student experience and encourage active participation and engagement in learning and teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programs facilitating high quality, student-centred learning activities. In doing so you will contribute to enhancing the School’s learning and teaching environment in support of an outstanding student experience.
