Position: Draftsman / Construction Estimator Position Type : Full-Time Salary: $75,000 plus superannuation per annum Location: Lonsdale SA 5160 Our client Fresh Construction provide and install retaining walls across Adelaide also conducting the associated earthworks. The nominated position is that of a draftsman/ estimator who will be in charge of creating their detailed plans with 3D overlays as well as 3D rendering. They will also be tendering for large commercial projects. Tasks required include: Working closely with our director to deliver cost estimates, plans and drawings for retaining wall projects up to the tendering settlement stage. Reviewing construction documents and understanding scope of work to bid; Preparing, reviewing, revising and analysing drawings, plans, charts, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost and labour estimates for projects; Preparing detailed quantity take-offs of construction documents; Obtaining and reviewing quotations from subcontractors; Preparing cost analysis by recapitulating material, labour, equipment, subcontractor and overhead costs incurred in the installation of items; Informing Managing Director of any observed inaccuracies or omissions in quoted items or computer database; Building strong internal and external relationships. Must be prepared to work weekends. Must also be available to travel as required. Must have the time to work at night as required. To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria: Have relevant bachelor’s degree in building and construction estimating, engineering or construction management. Have at least three (3) years of relevant prior experience Have a good grasp of maths, data analysis, good organisation, critical thinking, to be detail orientated, have effective communication skills, good time management and good technical skills. Have worked with a retaining wall company previously to understand the workings and experience in estimating for construction projects. You must also have the below software capabilities: Excellent in MS Excel Excellent in AutoCad Proficient in 3D modelling softwares like Sketchup, 3Dsmax or Revit Proficient in 3D rendering software like Vray, Lumion or D5 Proficient in Adobe Photoshop A portfolio of the following is a must: Cost estimate and bid tenders. AutoCad plans and detailed drawings. 3D modelling and rendering.
