About this role Delivering 4 Customers (D4C) is a consortium comprising of industry leading Tier 1 organisations – John Holland, Service Stream and WSP. Sydney Water has partnered with D4C to deliver design, construction, maintenance and facilities management services across their southern region - from Bondi to Gerringong, and out to Georges River. D4C is seeking a Design Manager to join our dynamic, diverse and high performing team in an exciting time of growth. We need your skills and expertise to help Sydney Water deliver a $34 billion dollar program over the next 10 years to build, maintain and protect the future of our iconic water resources. Primary Purpose This role involves leading and overseeing engineering and design activities, ensuring the successful delivery of projects across Sydney Water's Southern Region by providing expert leadership in design management. Key Accountabilities Manage the overall delivery of project designs to ensure they meet time, budget, and quality objectives Coordinate and lead multi-discipline design activities, ensuring smooth collaboration and integration across all technical teams Oversee the Engineering governance processes, including design input control, change management, verification, and validation Develop and manage design fee estimates for both ‘Concept' and ‘Detailed Design' phases Ensure designs adhere to project objectives, legal requirements, client standards, and established quality systems Provide leadership and guidance to design teams, fostering a collaborative environment and strong performance Implement risk management principles throughout the design process to mitigate project risks Ensure compliance with project management and contract management processes, ensuring that engineering designs meet commercial objectives.
