Unlike a typical Early Learning Centre, we are open for 50 weeks in a year, Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 6:00pm. About the role The role of the Child Care Educator, in the Early Learning Centre (ELC) is to assist the Director/Teacher and the team in providing high quality care and education for children in a community preschool setting for 3–5-year-olds. This is a fixed term full-time position covering a maternity leave for up to 6 months New graduates or those 50% or more working towards their ECT degree are encouraged to apply and will be supported with professional development opportunities. Duties Working with an ECT in the planning, implementing, documenting, evaluating, and delivering of a preschool program for 3 – 5-year-old children. Being responsible for the After School Care program for the preschoolers, with further staffing support. Developing a positive and supportive relationship with children. Helping to maintain a safe, engaging, and compliant environment. Establishing and maintaining good relationships with families. The successful candidate will have: Diploma Qualifications in Early Childhood Education (or 50% working towards), Studying towards your Early Childhood Bachelors degree (50% completed) Current and valid Working with Children Check clearance. Have completed CHCPRT025 or previous - Identify & Respond to Children and Young People at Risk. Current First Aid and CPR Certificate. Current Asthma and Anaphylaxis. Knowledge of the Education and Care National regulations and National Quality Framework.
