We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Platform Engineering Manager specialising in Infrastructure Automation to join our Platform Engineering team. Reporting to the Senior Manager Infrastructure Engineering, you will have the opportunity to lead technical teams in the operation and run of technology platforms including Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, DevOps, and infrastructure automation. The ideal candidate will be passionate about driving innovation, collaboration, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to meet the evolving needs of the business. About the role: Contribute to the broader strategic direction of Platform Engineering capabilities and services, maximising technology investment decisions and achieving synergies with technology adoption Ensure operational accountability by effectively managing people, financials, vendors and processes Lead, guide, and develop individuals and teams, including project teams where required, to effectively achieve required outcomes, KPI’s, and support skills development Empower and enable technology teams in a way that encourages continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, cross-skilling and collaboration Ensure technology solutions and processes are resilient, secure, and scalable whilst adhering to required IT policies, standards, frameworks, and quality controls Contribute to improvements in policies, systems, and processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards and maintaining accurate documentation Proactively identify and respond to issues, risks and opportunities, ensuring the timely delivery of technology solutions to agreed service levels Foster and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring expectations are continually aligned About you: 7 years experience within a Platform Engineering or Infrastructure Automation technology environment, preferability in Banking or Government Solid understanding of cloud platforms, system infrastructure, and platform operations Demonstrated knowledge and practical skills in managing change and run of technology solutions that are reliable, resilient, and highly available Leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and influence a commitment to resilience Proven experience leading, developing, and motivating technical engineering teams across BAU and project delivery Have managed technical teams providing 24x7 critical operations Prior hands-on experience with Azure DevOps Services, Terraform Cloud, and Puppet across IT Infrastructure Automation highly desirable Excellent problem solving, strategic thinking, and analytical skills Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric mindset Be More Working for an organisation that truly makes a difference to the people of Australia, we can offer development and career opportunities in a collaborative environment that supports your growth, wellbeing and promotes flexibility.
