Engeny is seeking a Principal Civil Engineer to join our Brisbane or Gold Coast Project Delivery team and participate in the growth of our Queensland operations. The Project Delivery team delivers a wide variety of projects from feasibility stage through to concept and detailed engineering design and construction support. About the Role Our Project Delivery team is seeking a Principal Engineer to: • Manage and coordinate project delivery for civil projects and services. • Work with other offices to deliver projects across Australia. • Review associated technical work (RPEQ sign-off by others). • Participate in client management and business development. • Execute projects, delegate and supervise/manage technical work undertaken by employees in the wider Engeny team. • Develop and implement the business plan and strategy for the Project Delivery Discipline (in conjunction with existing Principals and Discipline Leaders). Focus will be business development within the Local/State government sectors. • Play an active role in the business groups through regular meetings, workshops, training and business planning. • Provide business leadership through coaching and monitoring staff performance and meeting business targets. • Enhance and live Engeny’s values of respect, people, transparency and performance. About You The successful candidate will have the following attributes: • Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent. (essential). • Project Management certification or equivalent (preferred) • Registered Professional Engineer (not mandatory). We are looking for at least 10 years of experience in the planning, development, and management of civil and/or multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects including: -Local Government: Civil Infrastructure, roads, carparks, open space, waterways, stormwater infrastructure -Development: Subdivisions Key skills: superintendent roles, commercial administration, risk management, project management (construction phase preferred), cost and schedule control, business development. Constructability reviews, cost estimation and schedule creation (optional). • Advanced understanding of applicable project management theory and able to explain project management requirements at a detailed level to (train) seniors, engineers, graduates. • Familiarity with the use and application of AS/NZ and local government standards. • Capable of applying advanced theory to project planning/delivery and confident communication to clients. • Able to apply knowledge to work through project identification in conjunction with clients to determine solutions and risk assessment appropriate to the needs of the client. • Advanced level of understanding and familiarity with applicable legislation and technical standards / guidelines. • Independently develop project deliverables including but not limited to: tender documentation and recommendations (Scope of Works, BOQ’s, pricing schedules), commercial letters and reports. • Review and improve documentation prepared by graduates, engineers and seniors. • Prepare concise project summaries and present confidently to clients.
