About the role: This role requires an experienced female support worker with excellent communication skills who is willing to cook for the client. You will be warm and friendly and have fantastic communication skills. Our community shift is typically three hours every Wednesday. These shifts are usually in the client’s home or care facility and your experience with a wide range of disabilities will be critical. You will be provided training for any specific tasks or activities if required. If you enjoy meeting people, working independently and engaging with clients in the style that suits them, this is the role for you Responsibilities and Duties: Support clients in a range of daily tasks, including personal care, food preparation and mealtime assistance, light domestic tasks, and medication reminders Support clients to access their local community - shopping, participating in local events, joining local groups, walking and other activities the client enjoys Complete Shift Notes after each shift on our mobile app Be able to read, understand and implement the individualised care plans for each client Provide consistent, high-quality support to all clients Demonstrate a high level of professional integrity and ensure privacy and confidentiality of all client information Follow all organisation compliance and procedural documentation. Demonstrated experience required in: Providing all aspects of personal care, including showering and toileting The use of assistance equipment, including manual and electric hoists, manual and electric wheelchairs, and other adaptive items Working in Health, Aged Care or Disability Services Administering and prompting medication compliance Dealing with clients who have behaviours of concern The use of alternative communication styles, as some of our clients are nonverbal Working unsupervised and alone Time management skills Attention to detail Escalating concerns to your line manager if required. Personal Traits required: Empathetic Self-motivated Energetic Reliable Passionate Punctual Qualification/s required: A Certificate III or IV in one of the following (or equivalent): Disability/ Nursing/ Individual Support/ Aged Care. At least one year of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualification (Required) Licence/Certifications required: Current First Aid & CPR Certificate or the ability to obtain one (Essential) Satisfactory Working with Children's Check (Employee) or the ability to obtain one (Essential) Current Driver’s License, your own car, and comprehensive/third-party insurance (Essential) NDIS Worker Screening Check ID or the ability to obtain one (Essential) NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate (Preferred) Qualification in Health/Aged Care/Disability Services (Preferred) COVID-19 Infection Control training (Preferred) If you feel you are a good fit with our values and are passionate about enhancing the quality of life of people with disabilities, this role is for you Successful applicants must be eligible to work in Australia and agree to provide information for pre-employment checks as required for the position.
