We have an exciting opportunity for a Warehouse & Distribution Manager to join our Supply Chain team on a full-time permanent basis. Reporting to the General Manager Supply Chain. About the Role Oversee all aspects of warehouse and distribution operations, ensuring optimal performance in receiving, storing, picking, packing and shipping. Develop and implement CI / Lean initiatives to improve warehousing processes, logistics efficiency, and cost reductions. Including the optimisation of warehouse layout, workflows, and material handling systems. Drive customer service excellence by ensuring orders are fulfilled accurately and delivered on time, meeting customer expectations. Monitor and maintain inventory accuracy, working closely with production and procurement teams to ensure stock levels are appropriate. Manage the daily cycle count process and lead periodic cycle count reviews. Develop, mentor and manage a team of supervisors and staff, ensuring ongoing training and development, staff retention, performance management, and succession planning. Undertake regular workforce planning to ensure safe, effective and efficient utilisation of labour whilst minimising labour costs. Manage key relationships with key suppliers (e.g. equipment, domestic transport, labour hire, and facilities management). Prepare and present regular reports to senior leadership on warehouse performance, inventory levels, cost management and other key metrics Implement and monitor appropriate warehouse policies and SOPs to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance with company policies and GME’s quality systems and standards including (ISO9001; AS9001; ISO14001). Manage annual departmental capex and opex budgets and maintain the safety and functionality of all plant and equipment. Promotes a safe work culture within your department by complying with all Quality, Work Health & Safety, and Environment legislation and regulatory requirements. About You Relevant tertiary qualifications in warehousing and or logistics management or related commercial discipline would be highly regarded. Ability to obtain and maintain a NV1 Defence Clearance preferred 10 years of practical industry experience in warehousing roles with exposure to end-to-end warehousing and distribution functions, ideally within a manufacturing environment. Minimum 5 years’ experience in warehouse management role in a mature business with teams of 20 FTEs Experience in leading or contributing to a CI / Lean implementation program, with demonstrated results. Experienced in forward planning resources e.g., capex, workforce planning, strategic planning. Experienced and effective people leader, with the ability to communicate, motivate and empower a large and diverse team. Sound knowledge of professional best practice, demonstrated in an established warehousing environment . Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare and present information clearly, concisely, and authoritatively. Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills. Excellent customer relationship building skills. Organised and detail-oriented, able to commit to and meet deadlines. Proficient in using MS office products and ERP / WMS systems.
