About the Role A Medical Receptionist Trainee is a patient's first point of contact at one of our medical clinics. This is an entry point role with potential for further growth and development. The role will be supervised by experienced health professionals. Please note you should NOT hold a Certificate III to be eligible for this position. Overall, you will be required to ensure the patient flow is conducted with minimal interruptions by effectively using time management skills, informative communication skills while observing the overall demeanour of the patients in waiting. Duties First point of contact meet and greet clients. Attend to all phone calls and messages in accordance with the ATSICHS Triage process. Booking of appointments using the MMex system. Maintain specialist calendars. Ensure all correspondence related to GP referrals is scanned and filed in the appropriate patient chart. Desired Skills and Experience COVID-19 Requirement Immunisation history showing you have received two doses of a Covid -19 vaccine is encouraged. Required Must identify as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person in accordance with s25 of the Anti-discrimination Act 1991 (Qld). Willingness and ability to undertake at a minimum a Certificate III Business Administration. The ability to work independently, under guidance or direction and within a multi-disciplinary team. Previous experience in working with culturally diverse people. An ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People.
