eSafety's purpose is to help safeguard Australians at risk from online harms and to promote safer, more positive online experiences. eSafety leads and co-ordinates online safety efforts across Commonwealth departments, authorities and agencies and engages with key online safety stakeholders. It has a broad remit which includes administering complaint schemes and the creation of audience-specific content and programs to help educate all Australians about online safety. The Strategic Communications branch comprises multiple communications functions, including sections responsible for: Marketing, Campaigns and Events - Develops eSafety's marketing strategies, identifying appropriate channels and delivering across these. Operates the organisational marketing program, engaging with stakeholders and using analytics to track engagement and performance. Digital Content and Publishing - Leads creation of eSafety's digital assets and manages eSafety's digital content strategy. Provides editorial services, managing eSafety's website as a vehicle for program delivery and user engagement. Media and Corporate Communications - Provides strategic oversight into media management and safeguards organisational reputation. Prepares a full range of media materials including media and communications policies and plans, media releases, blog posts, speeches, social media management and key corporate documents. We are seeking an experienced Design Lead to join the Marketing, Campaigns and Events team. Our ideal candidate To be successful in this role you will be a great team player and enjoy collaborating with others to develop cohesive solutions and create engaging designs from conception through to delivery. You will have excellent communications skills, a positive customer service attitude and strong attention to detail. You will need to enjoy a challenge and be passionate about making a difference and willing to work collaboratively and flexibly in an evolving and fast-paced environment. Our ideal candidate is a senior designer, who has extensive experience working in a fast-paced design studio context, ideally in a communications setting, with creative and digital skills suited to a dynamic and globally known brand. The Design Lead will be comfortable leading a small design team and be our eSafety brand ambassador. You will manage the eSafety visual identity across different channels, medium and contexts and ensure all design assets are delivered to high quality, on time, and to expectations. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, and the ability to juggle competing tasks and priorities. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to negotiate client expectations. You will need to thrive in a fast-paced setting, enjoy a challenge and be passionate about making a difference and willing to work flexibly in an evolving environment. You will be familiar with project management methodologies and toolsets including work management software (for example, Jira/Atlassian), and you will have an aptitude for learning new applications. Experience in a government context is highly desirable but not essential. The key duties of the position include Working within the Strategic Communications Branch and enabling the work of the broader organisation, the Design Lead will be responsible for leading a small team of designers knowledgeable in print, digital and social asset design. You will manage the eSafety visual identity across different channels, medium and contexts and ensure all design assets are delivered to high quality, on time, and to expectations. This is a client-side position, acting as an eSafety brand champion and ensuring a variety of high-quality assets are executed on-brand, meeting time and quality expectations.
