We are looking for an experienced Legal Assistant with a background in Medical Negligence and Abuse Law. Drafting legal documents, court documents and correspondence; Filing court documents online in various jurisdictions; Preparing briefs for Counsel and Medical Experts, including indexing, collating and tabulating documents, and updating briefs; Effectively managing and maintaining multiple calendars, monitoring court and client timeframes and providing reminders as necessary; Arranging meetings, appointments and coordinate travel arrangements; Monitoring due dates for reports from experts and follow-up outstanding reports/documents; and Billing. What are we looking for? Prior experience as a Legal Assistant, preferably within medical negligence or abuse law; Proven billing experience; Strong sense of empathy and compassion; Exceptional communication skills; Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a proactive mindset; and Genuine passion for this area of law, with a desire to make a positive impact.
