The Cloud Engineer will be managing Linux servers on Azure, driving automation, ensuring security, and supporting cloud transformation initiatives. 6 Months Contract (with the view to extend) Financial Services Company Sydney CBD Location / Hybrid Working A prominent financial services company is currently seeking for a skilled Cloud Engineer with strong understanding in Linux Servers on Microsoft Azure to help drive cloud transformation initiatives. This role will focus on managing and enhancing cloud infrastructure, ensuring smooth operations across both Linux and Windows environments. The ideal candidate will be passionate about automation, cloud security, and optimising service delivery through modern cloud practices. Key Responsibilities: Manage and support both Linux and Windows servers within Azure environments. Lead the design and implementation of cloud solutions aligned with industry best practices. Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure policies to ensure security and compliance standards are met. Create and optimise automation tools to improve system efficiency and support DevOps workflows. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver cloud-based solutions that meet strategic goals. Maintain and enhance cloud deployment templates using Terraform and Azure Resource Manager (ARM). Monitor and maintain cloud infrastructure to ensure consistent performance and reliability. Provide advanced (L2/L3) technical support, including on-call support for critical systems. Partner with vendors and service providers to ensure effective delivery of cloud services. Key Requirements: A degree in IT or a related field, or equivalent industry experience. A minimum 3 years experience working on cloud infrastructure projects. Strong knowledge of Azure cloud solutions, with relevant certifications highly regarded. Experience managing both Linux and Windows servers in a cloud environment. Hands-on expertise with DevOps tools like Terraform, ARM templates, or Bicep. Strong scripting skills in PowerShell or Python to support automation efforts. Familiarity with cloud security principles and infrastructure management tools.
