We want you to be part of our success The Role Reporting to the Mine Engineering Superintendent, the Senior Mining Engineer will be responsible for owning the quarterly planning process, identifying improvement opportunities and supervising the mining engineering team to ensure that all production planning tasks for our underground gold mine are executed as per plan and in a safe and timely manner. This is a unique opportunity to join a small, close-knit team, where you new ideas, methods and strategies are not only heard, but actually trialled and implemented Cracow gold mine is a challenging narrow vein gold mine currently mining a combination of new and remnant areas with multiple mining methods. The work here is fast paced and varied - we work on mutual trust and respect to achieve exceptional results and take pride in doing so What You’ll Do Own the quarterly and monthly planning processes to ensure Cracow mine achieves best possible production outcomes Provide clear direction to the production engineers and operations team on scheduling, mining sequence and critical path Design, trial and implement drill and blast improvement initiatives to help us extract maximum value from remnant areas Ensure that processes and procedures are engineered to keep risk at an acceptable level Identify and deliver continuous improvement initiatives Complete stope and development designs as required Mentor train and develop technical and operational workforce Liaise closely with all operational and technical teams to ensure accurate, safe and effective plans are delivered and achieved Demonstrate proactive safety behaviour About You You are a seasoned Mining Engineer, who’s gained experience across multiple underground, hard rock mining sites. You’re team focused, collaborative and always prepared to do whatever is necessary to deliver great outcomes for your team. Ideally, you will either currently hold or be eligible to obtain a mine manager's certificate of competency, however this isn’t an essential requirement. Additionally, you will possess the following – Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering A minimum of 7 years in operations, planning and production roles Strong planning and drill and blast experience in an underground hard rock metalliferous environment Advanced experience using Deswik software Strong communication and leadership skills The ability to working autonomously, whilst being a strong team player within the Technical Services department The Operation Cracow is an Underground Gold Operation located some 500km North-west of Brisbane.
