Key Responsibilities Our team of dedicated Flooding and Stormwater specialists consists of more than 30 professionals in the Melbourne Office. We are seeking a water resources engineer to join one of our five specialised water teams in Melbourne and work on challenging and rewarding projects in the government, urban development and infrastructure space. Our projects are technically diverse and range in size, providing great opportunities to project manage or lead small to medium size jobs and be part of a team to deliver larger multi-disciplinary jobs working collaboratively with our Civil Design, Integrated Water Planning and Geotechnical teams in Melbourne and other teams across our Australian offices. We aim to develop roles that suit the skills and career aspirations of the right people. Depending on the individual, the role may involve tasks such as: Technical support on flooding and stormwater related projects primarily in Victoria that may include: Flood studies and flood risk management for urban or regional areas Flood impact assessments Dam break analyses and consequence of failure assessments Integrated stormwater management Stormwater management plans Catchment master planning Stormwater infrastructure planning and asset management Project management including client liaison, attending meetings, preparation of progress updates and data collation. Technical report writing. Problem solving. Model building and reviews. Training and support of junior engineers. For more experienced candidates, in addition to the above: Support the well-being, development, and resourcing of team members. Support and approve associated technical work directly related to the discipline and in project management capacities. Participate in client management, business development and proposal writing. About You Bachelor or Master of Engineering with a focus on water and environment. 1 – 4 years of post-graduate experience in a relevant role. Skills in hydrologic, hydraulic and / or water quality modelling with experience in relevant software such as TUFLOW, HECRAS, RORB and MUSIC. Technical skills in QGIS/ArcGIS/MapInfo. Experience in report writing. Motivated and able to work independently as well as being a team player. Self-driven and takes initiative. Strong communication skills.
