About The Role We are seeking an experienced and motivated Mining Engineer to join our North Capel team Our North Capel site is located in the South West of WA approximately 15 kilometres out of Bunbury and 5 kilometres from the Capel township. Enjoy the enviable coastal lifestyle of living in the South West, while also being home every night. Reporting directly to the Southwest Operations Manager, this role involves managing and maintaining tailings facilities. It includes overseeing earthworks, preliminary mine establishment, contractor management, and ensuring adherence to site and group standards and procedures. This is a residential, permanent role, working Monday to Friday. Your accountabilities will include: Providing technical mining leadership and stewardship for all mining-related activities onsite Ensuring the integrity of Operations Tailings Storage Facilities (TSFs) and overseeing the design, construction, operation, and monitoring of the TSFs including serving as the Responsible Site Person (Tailings) Assist in managing tailings production requirements and strategies for backfill to fulfill medium and long-term plans Responsible for the management of tailings and associated processing water systems, to achieve conformance with water stewardship commitments Oversee all earthworks and oversight of rehabilitation activities undertaken at the Southwest Operations Responsible for Life of Mine backfill strategies and design Ensure compliance with Group Procedures and lead a safety culture within your team and contractors Provide professional support to the site operations to ensure optimal mining and processing activities Safely and efficiently manage the harvesting/excavation of iron concentrate and NUA dams About You Degree in Mining, Geotechnical, Civil Engineering or a similar field, with relevant experience Extensive operational experience within mining/resources industry Knowledge and practical experience in the application of ANCOLD guidelines Detailed knowledge of tailings management practices Ability to engage and negotiate effectively with contractors and consultants Ability to work in a team situation and demonstrate situational leadership Achieved or are willing to achieve accreditation as a Quarry Manager High-level computer literacy in mine planning software Experience in the mineral sands industry will be highly regarded Our Offer To You Be supported through an inclusive and collaborative culture Up to 18 Weeks Paid Parental Leave Ability to Purchase Additional Annual Leave Competitive Salary and Bonus Structures We are committed to upholding our Business Values, supporting equal opportunities, gender equality and cultural diversity.
