About the Role The Engineering Manager will be the right hand to the VP of Engineering, taking ownership of the day-to-day operations of the engineering team to free up leadership to focus on strategic initiatives. Reporting to the VP of Engineering, you will play a critical role in executing Spacetalk’s strategic direction and key business objectives, overseeing projects, tasking, scheduling, and team management. You will be responsible for driving our engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions on time while ensuring innovation and continuous improvement. Key responsibilities: Lead and manage the software engineering teams, driving high-quality, scalable solutions and overseeing the daily operations of project management, scheduling, and tasking. Act as the key operational lead, enabling the VP of Engineering to focus on broader strategic initiatives by managing the delivery of key engineering projects. Oversee product-first engineering initiatives, aligning cross-functional squads for rapid and innovative delivery. Collaborate closely with product, design, and leadership teams to create an agile, innovation-driven culture. Implement and uphold best practices in DevOps, cloud scalability, and code quality, while ensuring continuous improvement. Align engineering roadmaps with IoT, AI/ML strategies to develop data-driven features that enhance user engagement. Manage team resources, project timelines, and maintain alignment with the company’s strategic goals, ensuring the engineering team operates smoothly and efficiently. Requirements We are looking for an engineering leader who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and has: 5 years in software engineering leadership roles, with experience managing cross-functional engineering teams and delivering SaaS or platform-based products. Strong understanding of Azure Cloud architectures and services, and Azure DevOps for continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD). Extensive experience with C# and API-driven development, particularly in building and managing scalable systems. Experience managing DevOps practices, ensuring smooth delivery and operations for cloud-based solutions. Proven ability to lead and mentor teams, foster a collaborative culture, and drive innovation across engineering disciplines. Experience in aligning engineering teams with product roadmaps and strategic business initiatives, with a focus on user experience and product excellence. Passion for driving engineering innovation through technology, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives. Strong organisational and project management skills, ensuring teams are well-coordinated, deadlines are met, and roadmaps are executed efficiently.
