Description Casual Café Attendant – Crown Street Stables Reference number: 10425 Closing date: Thursday 24 th October 11:45pm Casual position available. Salary commencing at $42.59 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation (inclusive of 25% casual loading). About Crown Street Stables Crown Street Stables is a two-storey heritage-listed building, located within Coronet Park. It is situated at 40 Crown Street, Flemington and is comprised of a community café, an accessible loft available for hire by external user group and is located on the grounds of a public park managed and maintained by Council. The Crown St Stables Café also provides support to people with a disability and vulnerable community members via the Crown St Stables traineeship program. The program offers a supportive environment, where Council staff assist in providing practical work experience for community members who face barriers to employment. The Opportunity Moonee Valley City Council is seeking a customer focussed individual to deliver friendly and efficient services to patrons at Crown Street Stables. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced barista with experience in all aspects of hospitality and café management to support the community and help individuals meet their personal goals and maintain independence. Responsibilities Work in collaboration with the café team, and the Crown Street Stables Coordinator to implement high quality customer service to meet the individual needs of our diverse clientele. Support the day to day operations of the Crown Street Stables Café. Work collaboratively with Café staff to set a high standard of customer service, food safety standards and menu planning. Store and serve food in accordance to Crown Street Stables Café Food Safety Plan. Ensure all relevant health and safety practices are established and adhered to. Skills & Experience Demonstrated experience in a café environment with the ability to work unsupervised in a busy customer service environment. Experience working with people with vulnerable community members and an understanding of the issues they face. Current Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain. Barista qualification and Level II First Aid is desirable. Well-developed communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people both internal and external to the Café. Demonstrate and work according to Council Policies and Procedures and Occupational Health and Safety Guidelines, at all times. Work in collaboration with café and Moonee Valley Council staff to assist in the provision of inclusive and culturally appropriate practices and safe food handling, to ensure the health and wellbeing of all customers. Qualifications Food Safety qualification Barista Qualification and/or relevant experience Level II First Aid, Anaphylaxis Management and Emergency Asthma Management is desirable. Demonstrated ability to provide friendly, focussed and flexible customer service in a café environment. Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised in a busy customer service environment. Experience working with people with vulnerable community members and an understanding of the issues they face.
