The Technical Directorate within Naval Construction Branch (NCB) is seeking a dynamic individual for the role of NCB Authorised Engineering Organisation (AEO) Resource & Systems Manager. The main purpose of this role is to balance immediate day-to-day management with long term strategic planning to help the Technical Directorate achieve its' Build Assurance accountabilities and in making naval projects efficient and effective. The position will work with the relevant technical managers and assist the prioritisation of NCB team resources in response to demand variations. Key responsibilities are: Resource Management - Oversight of resources supporting the NCB AEO operations on behalf of the Technical Director. Budget management, personnel activity allocation, tools oversight, and documentation management crucial for build assurance activities. Assist in long-term strategic planning for resources required to support future build programs and changes impacting current builds. Coordinate with stakeholders to align technical needs with the overall NCB Strategic plan including providing recommendations to NCB executives on technical risks and opportunities. Accountable to perform complex procedural, administrative and business support activities such as ensuring that appropriate personnel are accredited as Suitably Qualified and Experienced Personnel (SQEP). Assist with the coordination of quality assurance and document control to ensure that the technical needs in terms of up to date plans, processes and work instructions are identified and any strategies align to the overall NCB Strategic plan. Engage and negotiate with a diverse range of stakeholders, including shipbuilders, ship designers, Project Offices, Class Societies, and Navy stakeholders. Foster effective relationships, providing constructive feedback, and coordinating internal and external reporting requirements for the Technical Directorate. About our Team Naval Construction Branch (NCB) is accountable for the assurance of ship construction, set-to work and transit of vessels constructed at the Osborne Naval Shipyard and Henderson precinct. We are headquartered in Osborne, SA and have a detachment in Henderson, WA and a smaller presence in Port Macquarie, NSW. NCB is furthering continuous naval shipbuilding and growing sovereign capability by overseeing the construction to ensure quality and standards are met, storing lessons learnt and developing standard shipbuilding procedures for construction. NCB will oversee the construction of many different Navy vessels including Offshore Patrol Vessels, Hunter Class Frigates, Young Endeavour, Mine Hunter Vessels, Evolved Cape Class and Pacific Patrol Boats. Working at NCB will enable you to be at the grassroots of continuous naval shipbuilding, where you are part of a working shipyard, being able to see and contribute to the vessels delivered and used in Service by Navy. NCB currently has highly skilled and diverse shipbuilding experience, which will be shared to grow your hands-on construction knowledge. You will work alongside Navy personnel, internal project management officers and Prime contractors.
