About the Role As a Disability Support Worker you will be dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of individuals in your local Toowoomba community. We have casual opportunities available where you will provide active, person centred support to people with disabilities within Supported Independent Living (SIL). SIL is where you will be supporting people with disability in shared housing or in their own home, providing various supports including personal care and daily living assistance. You can expect to work across a 24/7 roster across a range of shifts, such as day shift, afternoon shift, night shift and sleepovers. Key Responsibilities Day to day care (including personal care) and supervision Community Access & Transport Maintain & Monitor Person Centred Plans Documenting & Progress Note keeping Build positive relationships with the people we support and their families Skills & Experience Prior experience in the industry supporting clients with disability and/or relevant qualifications Experience supporting clients with a disability who may be nonverbal and or have challenging behaviours An Australian Driver’s Licence A current First Aid and CPR Certificate (must be obtained prior to employment) Excellent interpersonal and communications skills To be considered for and appointed to a position at Life Without Barriers, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a minimum of two (2) doses or hold a valid medical exemption certificate, in accordance with Life Without Barriers Employee COVID-19 Vaccination Policy.
