The Position To provide assistance with all aspects of civil construction and maintenance work as directed, including assisting with general works as required. Develop skills to operate various forms of plant including trucks and earthmoving equipment. AlburyCity Traineeship Criteria To be considered eligible for this position: An applicant must not have 50% or more of the identified qualification or a similar or a higher industry qualification completed. The recruitment of an AlburyCity Apprentice is based on the assumption of no/limited industry skills or knowledge and is not based on age. Qualifications & experience Completion of Year 10 School Certificate or equivalent Required to hold or willing to obtain Class C (standard) Driver’s Licence, Provisional Licence or Learner Licence General interest in civil construction and maintenance Understanding of safe work practices The ability to follow existing practices and make decisions after consulting the supervisor Tasks & responsibilities Under direction assist in the following: Carry out assigned works in the maintenance and construction of civil and storm water infrastructure Undertake concreting activities Assist with the maintenance and construction of roads and footpaths Operate plant and equipment Maintain plant in a clean and serviceable condition Hours Based on a 38-hour week, with actual days and times being between Monday to Friday - 7am to 5pm - 4 days per week (these times may vary due to operational requirements), in accordance with AlburyCity’s All Roles Flex guidelines.
