A Trainee Opportunity – South Burnett Regional Council 2499: Kickstart your career in Civil Construction with this outstanding Traineeship with the South Burnett Regional Council. The Kingaroy based Traineeship will be full-time for 12 months commencing Monday 20th January, 2025 and include the completion of a Cert II in Civil Construction. The Duties: Reporting to the Works Supervisor, the Trainee will perform a diverse range of duties which will include: Assist with the day-to-day tasks and activities within Council’s Civil Operations and Civil Projects operations. Acquire practical on-the-job Civil Construction experience by assisting with the construction and maintenance of roads and drainage infrastructure. Operate small, motorised hand equipment. Provide a high level of client service to both internal and external clients. Refer matters that impact Council to appropriate Supervisors or Manager. Complete a Cert II in Civil Construction studies. Maintain a record of training achieved. Maintain a safe, clean and tidy workplace. Complete other reasonable activities and directions as needed. The Requirements: Minimum successful completion of year 10. General Safety Induction for Construction Worker Certificate (White Card). A commitment to learn and complete formal qualifications. The ability to undertake manual lifting. A level of fitness that will allow the performance of a broad range of physical tasks. The ability to work safely outdoors in hot conditions. Sound comprehension and numeracy skills. Sound communication skills. The proven ability to follow directions and work with minimal supervision as required. Proven team player qualities. A minimum current “C” class driver licence.
