Description Fixed Term, Full Time appointment (2 years) Salary Level 8/9: $113,063 - $140,279 plus 17% superannuation Hybrid role (2 days/week on Wollongong campus) The University of Wollongong (UOW) is a leader in higher education and research, dedicated to excellence and innovation in teaching and learning. We are looking for a seasoned Senior Cyber Security Engineer with at least 5 years of experience in a similar position to join our Cyber Security Uplift Program. In this critical role, you will collaborate closely with vendors, technical teams, and business stakeholders, to play a key part in the technical design and implementation of essential cyber security capabilities. Your expertise will play a pivotal role to greatly enhance UOW’s cyber security posture and elevate the maturity to ensure the protection of our systems and data. The Cyber Security Engineer will work alongside the project team in delivering program objectives. This involves identifying problems, analysing security gaps, scoping and creating solution design documents, and implementing security controls in line with our Cyber Security strategy. You will also aid in the development of information security policies, standards, and guidelines while offering strategic advice on risk management and compliance. The successful candidate will face challenges implementing security initiatives across various technologies, standardising processes across multiple UOW entities, and balancing stakeholder expectations while adapting to new technologies. Expertise in areas such as Endpoint and Network Security, Cloud and SaaS Security, Data Loss Prevention, Threat and Vulnerability, Identity and Access Management and Asset Management are required, along with strong analytical and communication skills.
