About the role As the Transmission Network Modelling Engineer you will play a pivotal role in the development and maintenance of advanced transmission electrical models, provide approporiate Subject Matter Expertise on related topics, and support the transformation of the grid through the energy transition. This position will focus on technical studies with a customer-centric approach but also support the alignment of models with various industry and market participants. Key Accountabilities Develop, maintain, and provide Subject Matter Expert support for transmission network electrical models and required inputs within industry standard software applications such as DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSCAD, and Siemens PSSE. Provide customer centric technical studies and support to sub-transmission generator connections, and support the development of records and reports as required throughout the connection process. This will include electrical power system modelling such as load flow, fault level evaluation, and dynamic and transient studies. Facilitate model enhancements and the required synchronisation of network models both within the business and with industry participants (including Proponents, TNSP’s, DNSP’s and Market Operators). Develop and consult on power systems model management plans, and a transmission network modelling roadmap. Support the development and take an owners mindset to the establishment of the model governance framework. Develop business cases for network augmentation plans as it relates to the maintenance of system performance parameters. Develop workplace procedures that provides SME guidance to a wide range of internal stakeholders. Minimum qualifications Bachelor of Electrical Engineering Licences / tickets C Vehicle licence up to 4.5 tonnes gross vehicle mass (GVM) White Card – General Construction Induction Card Experience Specialised professional with demonstrated experience in a similar/professional role Consulting, Energy/Electrical or Utilities industries.
