Status: Permanent Part Time – 0.6 FTE (across 3 days), with the possibility of full time Commencement – Term 1 2025 Position Location: This position may be located at our Valley Campus, 4 The Valley Avenue Gungahlin or our Forde Campus, Corner of Hurrell Street and Francis Forde Boulevard, Forde Line Management: This position will be responsible to the Head of Junior School and ultimately the Principal, working collaboratively with other teachers of Health and Physical Education. Burgmann Anglican School is an Early Childhood to Year 12 School with campuses located at Gungahlin and Forde. The school prides itself on its innovative and creative approach to curriculum and education and its strong sense of community and pastoral care of the students and their families and the staff of the school. The school has a strong link with the Gungahlin Anglican Church which shares facilities and resources with the school. DUTIES Collaboratively plan and deliver, the Health and Physical Education program for Junior School students Take responsibility for the pastoral and academic needs of a class of students Work with the inclusion team to develop differentiated class programs which address students varied academic needs Attend staff meetings and professional development opportunities as required Interact professionally with parents to provide informal feedback on their child's learning at school. Provides formal feedback to parents via learning feedback, parent interviews and other Junior School events. Provide planning and preparation support for Sporting events at the school, including but not limited to Athletics Carnivals, Swimming Carnivals, Cross Country and ACT Representative events. Support the Chapel and Assembly program as appropriate Participate in the school’s co-curricular program which may include after school or weekend activities Other duties as directed SELECTION CRITERIA In consultation with the School Sports Coordinator and Head of Junior School, plan and deliver the Health and Physical Education program for Junior School students Experience in leading or assisting in the planning and preparation of school sport events Demonstrated ability to undertake rigorous academic assessment and reporting as per a school policy Demonstrated ability to form strong and positive relationships with students, staff and parents Willingness to attend staff meetings and professional learning opportunities as directed by school leadership Experience in engagement with and support of a school co-curricular sporting program which may include events outside normal working hours activities Support the Christian ethos of an Anglican School Other duties as required SALARY, TERMS AND CONDITIONS The successful applicant will be employed under the Independent Schools ACT Standards Model (Teachers) Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2021 .
