Reporting to the Storage Team Leader, the Senior Storage Administrator is responsible for the administration and life cycle management of the Department's on-premises storage infrastructure including Block Storage (SAN), File Storage (NAS), Backup Storage (Object) and Fibre Channel (FC) switch fabric. This position also requires to regularly be performed in the data centres in Canberra where the systems are located. The key duties of the position include Responsibilities of the EL1 level may include: Administer a range of enterprise storage platforms including block storage (SAN), file storage (NAS) and backup storage (Object). Administer Cisco MDS switches and SAN fabric. Perform diagnostics, vulnerability patching and upgrades of storage systems and related management software. Life cycle management of storage and switch assets including planning, acquisition, installation, maintenance, decommissioning and disposal. Work with IT hardware in Data Centres, including the capacity to work with heavy equipment and being exposed to significant heat and noise. Develop technical and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) documentation.
