Your primary responsibilities will include designing new products and enhancing existing ones to improve patient comfort, usability, and therapy effectiveness. Collaborating with experienced engineers, youâll work closely with user experience, R&D, and stakeholders to translate patient needs into world-class solutions. Letâs talk about Responsibilities: Innovative Product Design : Research, design, and develop advanced masks that enhance the sleep therapy experience, ensuring every design meets the highest standards of comfort, appeal, usability, and therapeutic effectiveness. User-Centric Approach : Engage with users and customer experience teams to understand their needs and gather feedback to drive product improvements, integrating ideas and design based on customer needs, usability, technology trends, intellectual property, and environmental factors. Collaborative Development : Work alongside engineers, user experience, manufacturing, and other specialists to bring innovative ideas to life, integrating technology trends and manufacturing best practices into designs, and fostering relationships that promote a passion for design and delivery of groundbreaking products. Therapeutic Usability : Design products that account for therapy requirements, patient comfort, and usability while adhering to high-volume manufacturing constraints, ensuring thoughtful products that improve people's lives. Continuous Improvement : Assist in enhancing product lines based on user feedback, technology advances, and environmental factors, ensuring products remain at the cutting edge of sleep therapy, and developing innovative technology and processes for effective product production. Project Contribution : Be actively involved in projects and product lifecycle management, from concept to launch, with a focus on innovation and patient outcomes, solving complex problems through an innovative and thorough approach to development. Research and Development : Conduct research, design, and development from concept through to production, ensuring a detailed and effective approach to creating and improving products. Letâs talk about you: To excel as a Graduate Design Engineer at ResMed, you should possess a strong passion for product design, healthcare innovation, and enhancing patient experiences, coupled with prior experience and a desire to further develop in: Ability to analyze situations, apply design concepts, and solve problems effectively. Familiarity with design tools (e.g., CAD, SolidWorks) and manufacturing processes. Knowledge of plastic part design, Design for Manufacturability (DFM), and Design for Assembly (DFA) Knowledge of user-centric design principles, ideally in healthcare settings. Understanding of sleep apnea therapy or medical device design advantageous.
