This is the chance to join right as the takes off. More About the Role at Nine The Engineering staff support all station broadcast requirements in Brisbane and Gold Coast. The Trainee Broadcast Engineer role requires shift work to maintain and support all on-station and remote systems, with an emphasis on: graphics, file transfer, news edit and production edit systems, on a 7-day roster. Supported Systems include Studio Control rooms, News systems, Broadcast Cameras, Editing Suites, Production Suites, Acquisition and Contribution equipment, Graphic Suites and ENPS. Role Responsibilities: - Repair broadcast equipment including cameras, links, lights and audio equipment. - Provide initial support to Control Room systems, including MOSART, VIZ Graphics, VSM and Dante. - Provide support for a range of Editing systems, including Velocity, Premier Pro, AVID and Final Cut Pro - Provide initial support for newsroom systems, including Imagine News Force, file and tape-based ingest, GPRX and ENPS plugins. - Provide initial support for a range of broadcast-centric systems such as KVM matrices. - Multiviewers, sound and video processing systems and talkback systems - Provide input for resolving operational technical issues, such as upgrade paths and workflow changes. - Communicate with engineering staff and manager the status of equipment repairs - Provide support for the Master Control environment - Continue to keep the workspaces clean and tidy Employee Responsibilities: - Demonstrates a positive and professional communication style - Participates in and supports a team environment - Demonstrates the ability to work unsupervised - Communicates in a clear, timely and consistent manner - Shares information in a positive way - Where required follows NEC company policies and procedures - Supports and participates in a safe workplace culture Qualifications Essential Skills: - Certificate II or Certificate III in IT - Ability to learn new technology including IT systems - Ability to learn to problem solve and analyse technical aspects of complex systems - Ability to learn new systems and their integration into existing systems and workflow - Own Transportation - Available to work weekends Desirable Skills: - Previous experience in IT - Team Player - Good Communication If you don’t think you're a perfect fit, you should still sign up to Hatch and create a profile, we'll match you to other roles that suit your profile.
