Task & Responsibilities Manage buying within allocated budgets, ensuring purchases align with financial objectives and support the store’s profitability goals. Use sales data, market research, and trend analysis to anticipate consumer demand and adjust buying plans accordingly. Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers, negotiating terms that ensure timely delivery and high product quality. Participate in auctions, trade shows, and supplier meetings to source new products, assess current offerings, and build relationships with key suppliers. Evaluate product quality, including inspecting samples and selecting items that meet the store’s quality and style requirements, particularly in niche product categories like wool. Develop and execute buying plans based on consumer trends, historical data, and budget forecasts, ensuring the right products are available during key sales periods. Work closely with store management to align purchasing decisions with long-term sales strategies, budgeting, and seasonal planning. Collaborate with marketing teams to design and implement pricing strategies, promotional campaigns, and in-store displays to drive customer engagement and sales growth. Engage in negotiations with suppliers to secure the best pricing, delivery terms, and promotional deals that align with the store's sales goals and customer preferences. Study trade publications, manufacturer updates, and market trends to stay informed about changes in the market and anticipate future buying opportunities. Continuously track sales data, product performance, and inventory levels to ensure the store is well-stocked with products that meet customer demand. Qualification & Experience Relevant Qualification and at least 2years of work Experience in retail buying, purchasing, or merchandising is preferred. Strong negotiation and communication skills. Excellent analytical skills to interpret sales data and market information. Ability to anticipate trends and make decisions in a fast-paced retail environment. Knowledge of product inspection and valuation etc. High attention to detail with a strategic and consumer-focused approach.
