The Role Your primary purpose in this position is: Maintain the appearance and cleanliness of the city by operating Cleansing unit plant/equipment and undertaking a range of associated tasks in a safe, efficient and courteous manner. Supervise and/or assist in training of other Cleansing team members or casual hire staff as required. Perform additional street cleaning tasks beyond driving, including wiping bin tops, litter picking, and working in multi-deck environments. Key Responsibilities include but not limited to: Operate items of plant, equipment and undertake associated manual tasks associated with the city's cleansing Operate a range of Cleansing unit related plant items as required in a safe and efficient manner. Complete vehicle inspection checklists and ensure that all necessary repairs are reported in order to minimise vehicle downtime also undertake routine plant maintenance. Undertake training as required. Assist in the training of less experienced staff. Maintain records and provide information as required. To be considered for this role you should have: Essential Qualifications and Experience: Heavy Rigid HR Drivers licence. Experience in operating variety of cleansing & waste unit related plant & equipment in a safe and efficient manner Experience with routine daily maintenance of minor plant and equipment Team Player: Must work effectively in a team and be committed to public service. Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication Flexibility: Flexible with their working hours. Adaptability: Prepared to work in all weather conditions and on a roster that includes weekends and public holidays. Ability to commit to rosters with a proven track record of good attendance and punctuality.
