Click on the video below to learn more The Role We are seeking a skilled and experienced IT Engineer to join our dynamic IT Operations team. Reporting to the IT Operations Manager this newly created role will be responsible for maintaining and improving our network infrastructure, ensuring high availability, and providing advanced support to resolve complex network issues in collaboration with our managed IT service provider. Key focus areas include: Network Support: Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for network-related issues, including LAN/WAN, switches, routers, and firewalls. Network Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance tasks such as firmware upgrades, configuration backups and hardware replacements to ensure optimal network performance. Hardware support: Configure, build and troubleshoot laptops and other hardware devices i.e. docking stations, phones and tablets. AV Support: Maintain and troubleshoot the Audio/Video devices and ensure that the AV technology is operating at its optimum at all times. Network Design and Implementation: Assist in the design, implementation, and optimisation of network infrastructure projects. Monitoring and Reporting: Utilise network monitoring tools to proactively identify issues and generate performance reports to inform decision-making. Security Management: Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls and intrusion detection/prevention systems in line with security guidelines and in collaboration with the Information Security team. Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, processes, and procedures. SaaS administration: Administer and troubleshoot Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Copilot, Zoom and other SaaS solutions. You have Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. At least 3-5 years of experience working in network engineering or a similar role. At least 3 years of hands-on experience in Microsoft 365, particularly Entra ID, and cloud computing in an administrative capacity. Proficiency in routing and switching protocols. Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in managing SaaS and AI solutions, particularly SharePoint and Copilot. Proficiency in routing and switching protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP), network security (e.g., firewalls, VPNs), and network monitoring tools (e.g. SolarWinds). Ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues efficiently. Desirable Professional certifications such as JNCIS, AZ-700 or equivalent are highly desirable. Sound understanding of information security principles, practices, technologies, and standards, such as NIST, CSF and CPS 234. Experience in the financial services industry or regulated environments.
