Through our Christmas Cheer program, we help lower-income families in our community provide a joyful Christmas for their families. About the role We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Truck Driver t o provide support to the Christmas Warehouse in providing collection, sorting and movement of donated goods from donation to final location. Reporting to the Warehouse Co-coordinator, this is a casual role based in Raymond Terrace, NSW. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the General Retail Award Level 2. Please note that a reasonable level of fitness is required in order to carry out the duties of the position.This position will require the physical ability to stand, sit and walk for long periods time. The role will also require the successful applicant to push, pull, lift, carry, restrain stock and climb ladders etc. You will successfully Carry out the pickup and delivery of all donated goods. Interact cooperatively and constructively with Kmart or other donor representatives, providing them with a positive experience of the Salvation Army. Provide warehouse floor assistance as needed, including sorting of toys and other general warehouse duties as requested. Operate the vehicle in a safe and effective manner, minimising the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life and ensure the cleanliness of the vehicle inside/outside. Support the management of delivery volunteers in an efficient and courteous environment that fosters a productive experience for donors and Volunteers alike. You will have A valid NSW Driver Licence. A minimum of 1 year experience in driving and/or operating commercial vehicles. Proven experience in the recycling/transport industry (desirable). Self motivation and a strong work ethic. Sound presentation and communication skills to be able to interact and network positively with a variety of people. The ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively. Team working skills, flexibility with a positive attitude.
