About the role The Maintenance Engineer role is to analyse equipment technical documentation, function and performance requirements to derive maintenance plans that preserve asset integrity and fulfil the designated tasks. Key objectives & responsibilities include: Identify the relevant maintenance tasks and their characteristics (resources, level, frequency, work hours etc) through analysis such as Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) and/or reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM), considering the system/equipment functional requirements and mission profiles Analyse the maintenance resource package by undertaking resource evaluations and trade-offs to determine the optimum location, personnel, and resource requirements to perform each task. Apply engineering judgement to modify tasks to enhance vessel availability and reduce life-cycle costs. Document maintenance procedures, complying with all relevant safety standards, and based on authorised technical data such as to be clear and unambiguous for maintainers to follow. Conduct maintenance investigations to identify deficiencies in existing maintenance and/or to optimise asset reliability and maintainability. Involve in Supply support system activities for sparing analysis, support audit activities with Client if required. Required Skills / Experience / Attributes: Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical, Electrical or equivalent qualification 5 years relevant experience in maintenance engineering Hold a Construction safety induction (white card) Excellent computer skills Understanding of the importance and role of data in the logistics program essential Well-developed oral and written communication skills Desirable Maritime Experience Why Austal Competitive compensation and benefits package.
