About the role We are seeking an experienced Senior Legal Officer to support the Compliance Department by providing legal advice, managing contracts, and ensuring regulatory compliance in CFD trading. The role involves collaborating across departments, reviewing legal documents, and contributing to the development of compliance policies and training programs. Responsibilities: Legal Advisory: Provide legal counsel to internal stakeholders on matters related to CFD operations, regulatory frameworks, and compliance with financial market laws. Compliance Support: Work closely with the Compliance team to ensure compliance with applicable local and international laws, including AML/CFT, KYC, and other regulatory requirements. Documentation: Draft, review, and update legal agreements, contracts, terms and conditions, and other legal documents related to CFD trading and client relationships. Risk Management: Identify potential legal risks within the business and propose mitigation strategies. Regulatory Liaison: Assist in liaising with regulatory bodies, preparing and submitting reports as required, and staying up-to-date with relevant legal and regulatory changes. Dispute Resolution: Handle legal disputes, ensuring they are managed efficiently, and liaise with external legal advisors when necessary. Contract Management: Maintain a repository of all legal documents and ensure timely updates in response to changes in regulations. Training: Conduct legal training sessions to inform employees about legal and compliance risks related to CFD trading. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB or equivalent). A Master’s degree or additional qualifications in Financial Law, Compliance, or related areas will be an advantage. Minimum of two years of experience in legal or compliance roles, preferably in the financial services industry. In-depth knowledge of Corporations Law, financial regulations, and industry best practices, particularly in CFD trading. Exceptional drafting skills with a proven ability to produce clear, precise, and effective legal documents. Bilingual proficiency in English and Chinese (written and spoken) is required. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey legal advice clearly to non-legal stakeholders. Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments, ensuring a seamless legal information and advice flow.
