Georges River Council has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Environmental Projects Engineer in their City Technical Services Business Unit based in Hurstville. About the Opportunity Reporting to the Coordinator Environmental Engineering, the Senior Environmental Projects Engineer will be responsible for identifying, implementing and overseeing the construction of key environmental and open space projects that form part of the Communities Strategic, Operations Plan and future strategic placemaking plans. Assist the Coordinator Environmental Engineering to complete key environment and open space projects, including but not limited to new sports field construction (including irrigation and drainage), playground construction and stormwater improvement projects. This role will build Council's capacity to manage and improve environmental performance. What We Offer Permanent, Full-Time - 70 hours per fortnight Full time salary from $110,031.86- $127,488.43 per annum plus 11.5% superannuation (dependent on the skills, qualifications and relevant experience of the suitable candidate) Civil Liability allowance 3.5% Leaseback vehicle or vehicle allowance Wellness perks including flu vaccinations, health-checks, gym subsidy and more Hybrid work arrangements, including a 9-day fortnight Flexible start and finish times Salary packaging options The successful candidate will have Qualifications, Certificates & Licences Tertiary qualifications in civil engineering, environmental engineering, project management, or a related field; Landscape Architecture, Spatial Science backgrounds or equivalent experience. Registered Professional Engineer or should be eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in accordance with the NSW registration laws, where applicable. Current Class C Drivers Licence Construction Induction (White Card) Essential Extensive experience in environmental and open space project management with comprehensive knowledge of construction techniques and methods for delivering open space and environmental projects. Demonstrated experience in team participation and leadership. Demonstrated experience in budget and contract administration. Demonstrated experience in engaging stakeholders and community. Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to draft correspondence and reports. Demonstrated experience in grant, report and award writing. Demonstrated working knowledge of appropriate Australian Standards, relevant NSW Legislation and NSW State Government Policies, Technical Directions and Guidelines. Proven experience in Risk Management. Demonstrated knowledge of WHS legislation Desirable Demonstrated experience in environmental and open space project management projects within a Local Government or related setting.
