More About the Role at DP World Project Engineer - Civil Based in Brisbane on a 24 month contract this position is primarily responsible for managing and delivering site Civil Infrastructure Projects using contemporary and business Project Management principles for timely, efficient and optimised Project delivery. Key Accountabilities - Manage and/ or develop scopes of work, technical specifications, tender documents and related documentation. - Undertakes prequalification selections of Vendors, Engineering Consultants and Contractor selections for evaluation. - Provide expert Civil Engineering Technical advice on design, specifications and tender evaluation. - Planning and rolling out initiatives which include the development project plans, defining goals and deliverables, creating detailed roadmaps, and organising resources to reach project milestones. - Create and manage project budgets by estimating costs, tracking expenses, and ensuring that the project remains within budget allocation constraints. - Flexible, open, and determined to identify project cost savings at all levels while not compromising project ‘fit-for-purpose’ outcomes - Acting as the primary point of contact for all project-related communications, ensuring communication with team members and stakeholders. - Manage potential project risks and develop strategies to mitigate and monitor risk factors; creating risk management plans and coordinating the resolution of issues. - Ensure quality control by ‘on-the-ground’ oversight of project deliverables and ensuring compliance with established standards. - Monitor, track, and control outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies, and critical path deliverables. - Assure proper implementation of QA/QC procedures on the projects; as well as Environmental, Health and safety. - Evaluating the effectiveness of project management at the end of the project. This is important to learn from for future projects and can only lead to improvement. Qualifications, Skills and Experience - Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering. - Post graduate qualifications in Project Management or related disciplines. - Knowledge of structured Project Management frameworks and methodologies, preferably PMI, PMBOK 6th Ed. - 5-10 years’ experience in Project Management including the setting up and delivery of project management frameworks from concept to handover. - Strategic in approach: understands and addresses inter-dependencies and real issues. - Experience managing to deliverables and milestones: on time/within budget/meeting business needs. - Proven experience with projects of similar size and scope. - Well-developed technical management skills and experience of Projects Management. - High level scheduling, computer literacy (MS Office, MS Project, AutoCAD) and report writing skills. - Building budgets, monitoring cash flow and costs in professional systems. - Strategic thinking, predicting future outcomes and acting upon them.
