About the Role: Location: Melbourne, VIC / Hybrid Contract Type: Full Time, Initially 12 Months Fixed-Term (with the possibility of extension) Overview: Skillfield is seeking an experienced Software Solution Designer for an exciting consulting project. This role is ideal for a seasoned consultant contractor or someone looking to broaden their experience in a dynamic environment. The primary objective of this project is to assess business requirements and technical documents to create detailed solution designs that align with both project goals and architectural standards. Key Responsibilities: Assess business requirements and technical documents to develop detailed solution designs. Contribute to high-level conceptual solution architecture. Provide input on designs across various technologies, ensuring alignment with business and architectural standards. Document technical specifications and integration patterns across different environments. Analyze interface requirements and document interface mappings. Conduct impact analysis on system implementation and design options, managing associated risks. Collaborate with team leads to ensure architectural solutions align with project goals and team capabilities. Enhance system performance, scalability, and reliability to meet quality standards. Present proposed architectures in forums, effectively communicating key concepts. Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and understand business objectives . Required Skills & Experience: Extensive experience in ICT, encompassing SDLC, Data Modelling, and System Integration. Proven experience as a Solution Designer, with a focus on software architecture principles. Expertise in Microservices Architecture (MSA), Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), and/or Event-Driven Architecture. Proficiency in JAVA, Springboot , Angular, SQL & NoSQL DB, API & API GW, Message Brokers, and Container Platforms. Ability to implement and enforce security best practices for APIs, including OAuth, JWT, and other authentication/authorization mechanisms. Skilled in developing and maintaining comprehensive API documentation ( OpenAPI ), including design specifications, guidelines, and best practices. Analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of addressing complex technical challenges. Experience in designing solutions for complex systems. Capable of developing detailed solution plans and evaluating technologies. Ability to work independently and proactively in a dynamic environment. Experience with various data platforms, including the Hadoop ecosystem. Knowledge of data, security, and integration patterns and techniques. Familiarity with CI/CD practices and principles. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Clear communication skills, able to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences. Nice to Have: Experience with Ericsson IMS and Packet Core architecture. Understanding of 3GPP architecture-based voice and mobile core design. TOGAF Solution Architecture certification.
