They specialize in mechanical and civil construction, supporting major sectors such as water, rail, road, and electrical infrastructure. They are seeking an experienced and results-driven Construction Project Manager with deep expertise in tunneling, rail, and Sydney Water projects to lead large-scale, high-impact projects across the region. Key Responsibilities: Project Leadership: Oversee all phases of construction projects, particularly in tunnel, rail, and water infrastructure, from planning and design through to execution and handover. Lead project teams, ensuring alignment with timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Client and Stakeholder Management: Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including Sydney Water, rail authorities, contractors, and clients. Act as the primary point of contact for project-related communication, negotiations, and updates. Budgeting and Financial Control: Develop, manage, and monitor project budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising quality or safety. Prepare detailed financial reports and forecasts for senior management and stakeholders. Project Scheduling and Planning: Create and maintain detailed project schedules, resource plans, and risk management strategies to ensure timely project delivery. Anticipate and mitigate potential risks or delays through proactive planning and communication. Regulatory Compliance and Safety: Ensure all projects comply with relevant industry regulations, including those specific to Sydney Water and the rail sector. Implement and enforce rigorous safety and environmental standards on all sites, ensuring compliance with local and federal regulations. Team Management: Lead multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, subcontractors, and on-site personnel. Foster a collaborative work environment, ensuring smooth communication and coordination across all project teams. Problem Solving and Innovation: Address any technical or logistical issues that arise during project execution, applying innovative and cost-effective solutions. Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and efficiency across all project phases. Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, contracts, variations, and change orders. Provide regular updates to senior management and clients on project status and deliverables. Quality Control: Ensure all work meets the highest standards of quality and workmanship, conducting regular site inspections and audits to verify compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements. Qualifications and Skills: Proven Experience: Extensive experience as a Construction Project Manager, with a strong focus on tunneling, rail, and Sydney Water projects. Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects from conception to completion. Educational Background: A degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field is required. Additional certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, Prince2) are highly desirable. Industry Expertise: Deep understanding of Sydney Water and rail infrastructure standards, codes, and regulatory requirements. Experience with complex tunneling projects and associated technical challenges. Financial and Contract Management: Strong skills in budgeting, financial reporting, and contract administration. Ability to manage project costs, track financial performance, and identify opportunities for cost savings. Leadership and Communication: Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and build strong working relationships with clients and stakeholders. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with construction software and tools such as MS Project, Primavera, or similar project management systems. Knowledge of BIM and other modern construction technologies is a plus.
