As a Grid Connection Engineer, you will play a vital role in enabling the integration of renewable energy projects into the electrical grid. Job Responsibilities: Lead the grid connection process for renewable energy projects, ensuring compliance with relevant grid codes, regulations, and standards. Conduct detailed feasibility studies and technical assessments to identify grid connection requirements and potential constraints specific to each project. Collaborate with internal teams, external consultants, utility companies, and transmission system operators to design and optimize grid connection solutions that minimize costs and maximize efficiency. Coordinate with regulatory authorities to obtain necessary permits, licenses, and grid connection approvals. Develop technical specifications for grid connection equipment, such as switchgear, transformers, and protection systems, ensuring they meet project requirements and grid compliance. Review and analyze grid connection agreements and contracts, identifying risks and proposing mitigation measures. Provide technical support and guidance during grid connection testing, commissioning, and operational phases of renewable energy projects. Monitor grid performance and conduct analyses to identify opportunities for grid optimization and integration of energy storage systems. Stay updated with industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes related to grid connection for renewable energy projects, and apply them to project designs and implementation. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Proven experience in grid connection engineering for renewable energy projects, with a solid understanding of grid codes and regulations. Strong knowledge of power system analysis, including load flow, short circuit, and stability studies. Familiarity with grid connection equipment and technologies, such as protection relays, SCADA systems, and communication protocols. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and address technical challenges. Effective communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. Knowledge of relevant industry guidelines, best practices, and standards for grid connection of renewable energy projects. Project management experience is a plus, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Professional engineering certification (PE) is highly desirable.
