Your Role As a Gensler Interior Designer- Workplace, you will tap into your boundless creativity and passion for design to produce unique and functionally beautiful spaces for clients. You are a self-motivated, team player who is ready for active participation in all phases of the design process. With you as part of the design team, interiors have never been so engaging. What You Will Do Perform interior design assignments using professional concepts and procedures and documentation templates. Produce strong conceptual and finished design presentation documentation utilising and helping to develop strong presentation templates. Produce sketch plan/schematic design documentation of interior layouts, loose furniture, elevations, sections, joinery plans, details and finishes utilising and helping to develop strong presentation templates. Develop sketch plans which incorporate the elements of new ways of working and that meet and then exceed the unique expectations of the client brief. Providing solutions to design problems and generate design alternatives Utilise the Gensler design technology tools from concept through to completion including Gfloorz , Revit and rendering software. Adapt to the new tools as they are developed and engage with our Design Technology team with feedback and suggesions to ensure the Design Technology tools are utilised across all projects. Develop the concepts and scheduling of FF&E. Prepare colour and material palettes for projects in coordination with other team members for client presentation Render plans and elevations to convey a design concept to a client Develop high quality visuals of design concepts to convey a design concept to a client Have a strong presence and role in client presentations Develop and produce BIM drawing packages for design review, tendering and construction phases of the project; Coordinate the input of the project consultant team; including but not limited to certifiers, DDA consultants and services engineers Monitor the tasks and milestones of a project against the design fees and program Meet with suppliers and co-ordinate and educate the design team on new materials, brands and special treatments, including a focus on sustainability and the Gensler GPS program Delivering the highest quality of professional service Acting as primary design interface with clients, project managers and consultants Reviewing your own work and the work of others for accuracy Reviewing drawings, mock ups, materials, and finish samples submitted by project contractors Be involved in and represent Gensler at design industry events to develop your individual profile and promote the work of Gensler in a professional manner Be involved in new business meetings, presentations and pitches to contribute to winning new project opportunities And any other related responsibility as assigned. Your manager will communicate with you further about specific requirements and expectations of your job, which can be adjusted according to business and organizational goals. Your Qualifications 6 years’ experience with the design of workplace interiors projects. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of design. Strong design abilities, including development of schematic planning and design concepts, knowledge of furniture and finishes, planning codes, and budgets. Self-starters with good verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail A positive, motivated and can do attitude Ability to work well as a team in the pursuit of producing great work together for the collective success of the team. Strong skills in client communication and presentations including leading internal design workshops Motivated to guiding team members with less experience than yourself for the benefit and strength of the design team Your Design Technology Qualifications Essential Deep knowledge and experience in Autodesk Revit for design authoring, documentation, data extracts and project delivery. Deep knowledge and experience in design presentation technology such as Adobe Creative Suite, Enscape and GFloorz Experience in collaboration within the BIM context, including cloud-based markups, consultant coordination and clash detection. Understanding of the capabilities and application of Information Management tools such as Aconex and Procore Experience in strategic planning, setup of BIM projects, and troubleshooting, specifically in the context of Revit and allied workflows. Desirable Familiarity and some experience with Computational Design applications such as Grasshopper and/or Dynamo. Understanding of the interoperability workflows between the various design tools throughout all the stages of a project. Deep understanding of and experience in Rhinoceros for design authoring. Deep understanding of Real-Time Visualization development within the context of BIM, specifically in the use of Enscape and/or Lumion, Twinmotion with Revit and Rhino. Familiarity with Performance Design software such as Autodesk Insight, Sefaira, Diva, and/or Ladybug tools. Working knowledge in the use of VR walkthroughs and panoramas for client presentations, consultant coordination and internal design reviews.
