About the Role As a Disability Support Worker you will be dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of individuals in your local Toowoomba community. We have permanent part time positions available, where you will provide active, person centred support to people with disabilities. Successful candidates will have availability to work a range of shifts across multiple sites in both our Supported Independent Living (SIL) and Lifestyle programs. SIL: Supporting people with disability in shared housing or in their own home, providing various supports including personal care and daily living assistance. You can expect to work across a 24/7 roster. Lifestyles Programs: Provide one-on-one support to individuals with disabilities in their homes or the community, with travel between clients and working short, split shifts required. Key Responsibilities Follow person-centred active support plans and behaviour support plans, advocating for client choice and control in a safe and compliant manner Facilitate client goal achievement through meaningful activities Community access and transport Track and document an individual’s progress through thorough record-keeping Establish positive relationships with the people we support and their families Skills & Experience Prior experience in the industry supporting clients with a disability with complex needs, mental health support and challenging behaviours An Australian Driver’s Licence, reliable and insured vehicle. Willingness to travel between clients homes & SIL houses A current First Aid and CPR Certificate (must be obtained prior to employment) Excellent interpersonal and communications skills To be considered for and appointed to a position at Life Without Barriers, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a minimum of two (2) doses or hold a valid medical exemption certificate, in accordance with Life Without Barriers Employee COVID-19 Vaccination Policy.
