This role will work within the Department of Defence. Responsibilities: Develop and implement a detailed, agreed-upon plan for specific Navy platforms, Build and maintain an open, transparent, and constructive working relationship with key stakeholders for the assigned Navy platforms, Oversee and facilitate the progression and approval of the Request for Problem Resolution (RPR), Collaborate closely with the Installation Manager to secure the approval for the designated Navy platforms before the planned deployment, Work alongside the Engineering Manager to ensure the timely planning and delivery of necessary engineering outputs, Identify engineering risks, issues, and opportunities for the allocated Navy platforms, Provide strategic, specialized engineering advice, Establish engineering control processes and practices for the assigned Navy platforms, Create and implement relevant engineering documents, briefs, and presentations for project management, Prepare and manage costs, conducting due diligence on contractor surveys and quotes through cost analysis. Skills and Experience: A relevant tertiary qualification, such as a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Proven experience as a Systems Engineer in Defence, managing the technical aspects of project delivery, Knowledge and experience with Royal Australian Navy (RAN) platforms, Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the ability to present and engage effectively with both internal and external stakeholders and project teams. Desirable: Experience working in the Defence sector. Proven experience and knowledge in Defence Projects. Background working with Ship Class SPOs and ISSCs, whether in a military, APS, or contractor capacity. CASG experience, SATCOM, Tactical , Maritime , Navy and communications experience.
