Thiess is the place to make things happen. The Opportunity Thiess has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Production Mining Engineer to join our team on a 8/6 roster. Pembroke Resource’s Olive Downs Complex is a greenfield project located 40 kilometres south-east of Moranbah which commenced mining operations in mid-2023. Thiess has been awarded a five-year contract to deliver full service mining operations, including mine planning overburden removal, drill and blast, load and haul (Autonomous), water management and rehabilitation as well as construction of the mine infrastructure. Key responsibilities in this role will include: Engage with key production and autonomy personnel to ensure the safe and productive execution of the 2-week mining schedule. Understand the key drivers of production performance and communicate to site with the ability to optimise performance based on live data. Actively monitor operational activities and geotechnical conditions and immediately report any identified non-compliance or hazards. Provide accurate inputs to the mine planning process. Facilitate daily production meetings with key stakeholder. Compile and distribute daily production reports. Create and distribute daily mining plans. Assist Sr Engineer in the management of the weekly dig/dump plans in consultation with Mining Superintendents and Supervisors. Provide support to D&B and Short-Term Design Engineers where required. Mentor and coach graduate Mining Engineers. Foster good working relationships with all internal stakeholders to enhance coordination between departments by maintaining effective communication with relevant personnel. About you Prior experience working as a Mining Engineer Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or a related field Proficient in MS Office and mine design, planning and scheduling packages including Vulcan, Deswik, Spry / XPAC / XACT highly desired.
