Due to continuing growth and expansion of the Saunders Automation portfolio and team we are actively seeking an Engineering Manager to join the business and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams. The Engineering Manager position forms part of the Saunders Engineering and Drafting Team. The team provides engineering services directly to external clients and internally to support the delivery of Saunders construction and maintenance services. The primary objective of the Engineering Manager is to coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams, manage engineering workload distribution and support Saunders's future growth. Manages a national multidisciplinary engineering team and optimally allocates resources across the project portfolio. Ensuring engineering scope on projects is completed on time and compliant with the relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements. Hiring and supervising engineers, design managers and design drafters across all disciplines. Communicates project progress with internal and external stakeholders. Resource planning and scheduling to ensure adequate resourcing to projects, identify changing resourcing requirements and maintain optimal utilisation levels. Maintaining and developing Saunders Engineering and Drafting procedures, guidelines and workflows to ensure they are compliant with industry and regulatory requirements and expectations. Identification and onboarding of engineering and design drafting resources to support growth and ensure adequate resourcing of current and future projects. Progressively monitor the quality of engineering deliverables to ensure adherence to company and legislative requirements. Reporting on the status of engineering projects to stakeholders including time and cost to complete estimates. Performance management of the engineering and drafting team to ensure Saunders's engineering capability is delivering value for money to clients. Ensure Safety in Design principles are integral to the delivery of engineering projects Insist that all services delivered to clients always meet the strict quality standards set by the Company. ABOUT YOU Essential: 15 years’ experience in multidisciplinary engineering design Experience in managing a multidisciplinary project or engineering team Experience with Microsoft Office applications. Ability to communicate, influence and build effective relationships at all external and internal business environment levels. An exemplary understanding of engineering design workflows and processes. Continuous improvement mindset. Ability to respond to a changing work environment. Desirable: 5 years’ experience as an engineering manager with an engineering design organisation Experience in Engineering Design in Oil & Gas and Resources and Industrials sectors CPEng and RPEQ in a relevant area of engineering Passion for sustainably growing a business.
