THE OPPORTUNITY We currently have an opportunity for a motivated and talented Control System Support Engineer to join our Customer Service team based in Brisbane . Play a leading role in the deployment and support of electrical control systems at a key customer site. This includes design, documentation, testing and commissioning of materials handling automation hardware and PLC software. The successful candidate must have a professional self-driven manner and display a dedication to providing a high-quality output as well as the ability to work effectively under pressure in business-critical environments. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE Providing second level technical support to maintenance & electrical teams Conformance to OHS&E standards in the design and execution of all work Prepare/assist with budget costing and quoting Development of functional specifications Complete regular system diagnostics and analysis procedures and provide customer reports Preparation of schematic drawings, PLC programs and configuration of SCADA and PLC-related equipment e.g., HMI’s, Scanners, Roller drive-cards and VSD’s Preparation of manufacturing and installation specifications Planning and supervision of controls installations Oversee the Controls project cost/budget and schedule control Testing and commissioning of systems on site, some weekend work is to be expected Preparation of test plans and operator & technical manuals Training of client personnel and providing customer support Assist with interstate or some overseas projects when required Tasks and Qualifications: WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Degree qualified in electrical engineering, with tertiary qualifications in the areas of engineering/electronics/ mechatronics Electrical trades licence qualification is highly regarded Ideally project design and project commissioning experience in Australia Knowledge of configuration, programming and commissioning of PLCs (Siemens S7 preferred), variable speed drives, barcode scanners and safety devices Knowledge of SCADA's like ICONICS, CITEC and WINCC Knowledge of materials handling systems is highly desirable such as conveyors and sortation systems Writing of technical documentation Ability to work without supervision and guide teams/projects Flexibility to travel interstate, regional areas and overseas Excellent verbal and written communication WHAT WE OFFER Local and International travel Project based work Progressive and innovative global company experiencing high growth Career Development and Global Opportunities Competitive salary, with salary packaging and novated leasing available Corporate discounts on car rentals and IT products/accessories Paid Parental Leave super: 12 weeks for primary carer/2 weeks secondary Other Leave Options Study Assistance Social Club Employee Referral Programme WHY BRING YOUR CAREER TO DEMATIC This is an exciting time to join Dematic.
