Company: Our client is a family-owned business based in Shepperton producing bespoke Tank and Pressure Vessel products for clients across Australia. With their own in-house fabrication team, they can design and manufacture their products keeping a sole focus on the product design life cycle. They are established within a wide variety of industries and almost all the designs are be-spoke for specific applications, making this an exciting role with each day being different the next. Due to a design veteran leaving the business, they are looking for an experienced pressure vessel engineer to integrate within the mechanical team and bring with them strong industry knowledge and standards. Key Responsibilities Responsible for defining and controlling the engineering standard designs Qualifying and managing outsourced design engineering resources Completing detail design calculations for coded and non-coded tanks and ancillary components such as support structures and accessways Coordinate verification of design, notification and registration of pressure vessels with relevant organisations/regulators Define/develop and control key design processes including design variations Develop/collate design documentation to satisfy required design calculations/reporting project deliverables Provide general technical advice to project manager, project engineers and production coordinators to support the identification and rectification of issues Provide pre-sales design support to the Sales team Attend and participate in key (project related) stakeholder meetings Qualifying and managing outsourced drafting resources Complete 3D modelling and drafting activities Provide general drafting related technical advice to project manager, project engineers and production coordinators to support the identification and rectification of issues Provide pre-sales drafting support to the Sales team Background Bachelor qualification (or higher) in mechanical engineering (or appropriate equivalent) Minimum 4 years’ experience with tank/pressure vessel design, ideally using V-Elite & Nozzle-PRO Advanced MS Office skills including Word and Excel Demonstrated understanding of key Australian Standards including AS1210, AS1692 and AS1170 Demonstrated experience in performing engineering design calculations Member of Engineers Australia Registered with National Engineering Register (NER) through Engineers Australia Registered Professional Engineer (RPEng) with Business Licensing Authority (BLA) Desirable Demonstrated experience with structural steel design including understanding of AS1657 Demonstrated experience performing Finite Element Analysis (FEA) Demonstrated experience using MS Project (or equivalent) Demonstrated experience using drawings applications (AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, or equivalent) Demonstrated experience in a manufacturing industry or engineering environment Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) What's on Offer?
