Be part of our journey towards becoming Queensland’s water infrastructure leader Join Sunwater as a Senior Engineer - Dams, where you’ll play a vital role in supporting multi-year Dam Improvement Program spanning multiple dam assets across regional Queensland, with the goal of enhancing the safety, resilience and operational efficiency of these critical water infrastructure assets. You will help with the delivery of technical design works and assist with defining and assuring compliance, technical and safety requirements of the assets. As Senior Engineer – Dams at Sunwater, you will: Provide technical advice and support to junior staff within Asset Integrity to assist in the development of core technical skills for future dam engineers. Participate in and where required lead the Engineering Design for a range of packages or major programs of work including ad-hoc engineering assessment, minor dam safety upgrades and major dam improvement design programs ensuring all works are completed in accordance with Sunwater’s engineering requirements. Provide effective detailed engineering designs for bulk water related infrastructure which are high quality, economically viable, safe and serviceable. We are seeking a talented individual with a proven track record in investigation, analysis, design, construction, and operation principles related to the civil, structural, geotechnical, hydrological and hydraulic designs of referable and appurtenant structures. You will hold tertiary qualifications in Civil or Geotechnical Engineer, preferably with RPEQ status. You will also bring: Design expertise: Demonstrated experience and understanding of core design principles for embankment and concrete dams including arrangement design, material parameter selection, filter design, foundation design, seepage modelling, stability modelling, intake design and spillway design. Risk management skills: Well-developed technical and risk management skills, with the ability to identify potential asset risks and make recommendations for mitigation strategies Communication skills: Excellent communication skills with a knack for writing and presenting quality reports and findings to senior leadership, including the Board and executive leadership team This role offers an array of attractive benefits including: Base salary starting from $156,360 12.75% superannuation Access to banked time and TOIL 17.5% leave loading A genuine emphasis on work/life balance Water.
