This role is essential for designing, optimising, and ensuring the performance of wind turbine systems for large-scale wind projects. As a Wind Engineer, you will be responsible for the technical design and analysis of wind turbine systems, focusing on enhancing efficiency and reliability. Your work will support the successful implementation of wind energy projects, contributing to a sustainable energy future in Queensland. Key Responsibilities: Design and optimise wind turbine systems, including mechanical, electrical, and control aspects. Conduct performance analysis and simulations to ensure efficient operation of wind turbines. Collaborate with project teams to integrate wind turbine systems into larger wind farm projects. Perform site assessments and wind resource evaluations to support project feasibility studies. Develop and implement maintenance strategies to enhance turbine reliability and performance. Analyse data from wind turbine operations to identify areas for improvement and optimisation. Oversee the installation and commissioning of wind turbine systems, ensuring adherence to technical specifications and safety standards. Coordinate with suppliers and contractors to source and implement high-quality components and systems. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for wind turbine systems during and after installation. Prepare and present technical reports, including performance assessments and recommendations. Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in wind turbine technology. Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Minimum 5 years’ experience in wind engineering or a related field, with a focus on wind turbine design and optimisation. Proven track record in working on large-scale wind energy projects. Strong understanding of wind turbine technology, aerodynamics, and mechanical systems. Experience with performance analysis tools and software for wind turbines. Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices in wind energy. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse complex technical data. Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
