About the Role: We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join a major Cloud Enablement Program within a large enterprise organisation. This role is crucial to the Data Services stream, which is a key component of our extensive data project. Project Overview: Re-planned Data Project: Integrated into the Cloud Enablement Program, focusing on building a UAT platform and getting it operational; Key Tasks: Involves data integration into the data warehouse, platform validation and demonstrating budget utilisation; and Team Needs: Supporting the data consumption team to meet strict deadlines and manage AWS Data products. Responsibilities: Build and optimise ETL pipelines and data pipelines; Work closely with a team of Data Engineers and a Lead Data Engineer to support platform and devops tasks; Engage in the development and implementation of data solutions with AWS, Cloud and SQL; and Contribute to a platform build, including writing ETL scripts and handling data transformations. Qualifications: Experience: Significant experience with AWS Cloud technology and data warehouse projects; Skills: Strong capabilities in building ETL pipelines, data architecture and familiarity with Python, SQL and possibly R; Flexibility: Ability to work in an evolving environment, with a focus on supporting ongoing build tasks and pipeline development; and Knowledge: Understanding of data architecture and experience in transitioning SQL from on-prem systems to cloud platforms. Additional Information: Tools: Experience with JIRAand Confluence is beneficial; and Challenges: The Data Services area is developing its delivery practices and frameworks, with a focus on improving agile and waterfall techniques.
