Who We Are: Nova Systems are the only wholly Australian owned Major Service Providers (MSPs) supporting Defence's Capability, Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG). We provide Australian sovereign capability to the Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance Delivery Division (GWEODD) who look after the acquisition and sustainment of a broad range of Explosive Ordnance (EO) capabilities for the Australian Defence Force. GWEODD currently manages thirty-eight acquisition projects and sustains over one thousand munition types (including thirty-five types of complex guided weapons). With the government announcements around increasing Sovereign Capability in Defence, we have opportunities for enthusiastic project managers to join our expanding team working to support GWEODD. About the role: As a Guided Weapons Engineer working on GWEO projects you will be working alongside other guided weapons, explosive ordnance and armament projects personnel. Our preference would be for candidates that have prior Defence and/or Guided Weapons or Explosive Ordnance experience. What you may be involved in: Development and review of engineering artifacts used to maintain and/or certify weapons, whilst complying with client engineering management systems, Providing specialist engineering consulting services to our clients in the area of guided weapons procurement Weapons integration and system sustainment Coordinating and managing technical outcomes within a professional engineering team Design and compliance activities related to in-service management of explosive ordnance. What we would expect from you: An Engineering degree in a suitable field and at least 2 years relevant experience, or a technical/trade background with 8 years of demonstratable relevant Defence experience. Relevant experience in engineering artefact development and review activities. Sufficient maturity to undertake independent design development and/or review; and Desirable skills: A demonstrably elevated level of professional knowledge on guided weapon systems, equipment, or technology. Experience working to support defence acquisition or sustainment projects.
